5/29/2023 0 Comments Usb overdrive dolphinI'm going to put some functions into the rest of the buttons if I can work it out. So I found in main.js that I could send a different MIDI CC from the touch strip as my synth doesn't respond to CC 1 (modulation). You don't need to modify the scripts unless you want to change the functionality. It'll be different on Mac or Linux I guess. To quit it I press CTRL-C and end the batch job. It asks me to choose a MIDI output to send the messages to, so I choose one of the ones on my soundcard and it plays my external synth. The stuff gets installed (for me - win 7) at C:\Users\robman84\AppData\Roaming\npm\rbkey-midi.cmdĪfter that I just type rbkey-midi and away it goes. Once they were installed and added to my Windows Path the installation of rbkey-midi worked fine as per the instructions. Hi found the GIT installer, installed node.js and installed Python 2.7.5 Within minutes? You're going to have to share your secrets as I could follow after installing those obscure scripts I can't understand. Posted: Tue 8:21 pm Post subject: Re: Amazing! Now to start trying to customise it to use more button functions! I picked up a Wii RB3 keyboard today and within minutes I had wireless MIDI on my PC. Just registered here purely to say a huge thanks for this. Posted: Tue 6:42 pm Post subject: Amazing! I will if you get me a PS3 keyboard :P Or maybe it's REALLY similar and you just need to tell me a few things and it'll just work. Can you please make one for the PS3? Thanks I've always wanted to get more out of the keyboard with something like this. Oh, and great potential you got going here. I thought over Bluetooth, but that looks neat too. My guess would be that Dolphin needs to be able to "connect" real USB devices to the virtual Wii's virtual USB ports, but there's not much I can do there I'm afraid.ĮDIT: So yeah, this has nothing to do wth my program, but here's an issue discussing it: Īnd it might work on this build of the emulator, if you haven't tried that yet: You mean, as in use it as controller for the Wii emulator? I have no idea, I'm not using any Wii-specific tools, just reading the data it provides as if it were any regular old USB device. Think you can make it work for Dolphin? I think the problem before was it couldn't connect, but now that's solved, right? Make sure you're hitting the drum controller I've been practiving this over and over again and even at 50% speed I can't hit any notes. I think it might even be a bit better than connecting via MIDI cable, seeing as I have a toggle for pitch bend/modulation, while via MIDI cable you would have to hold the button (which is not very practical). Xbox 360 support will be coming as well probably (and maybe even PS3 if I ever come across a cheap one), since they all work very similarily. Other than that, most of the basic stuff works. You can find installation instructions over here: Īt the moment it requires quite a few things to be installed for it to work (I think, it's hard to say because I have all of them), though, I'll see if I can make that any easier. So to make that happen I cooked up a little program to use a Wii keyboard as MIDI device, and it works pretty well! Though I was expecting it to connect via Bluetooth (making it even portable-er), the dongle it comes with is alright as well, it even gives you an extra USB port (way better than those crappy and expensive Xbox recievers)! a LOT of dog years.Īny way, I recently stumbled upon a way-too-cheap RB3 keyboard for Wii and realized that it would actually make a pretty sweet MIDI keyboard: reasonably full-featured, very portable, and wireless even, which would be very expensive in any other case. Apparently my last login was June 13, 2010. Hey there everybody! Wow, it's been a long time since I've been here. Posted: Mon 10:35 pm Post subject: Rock Band keyboard as (wireless!)
